Delaware Tech Celebrates Phi Theta Kappa Induction Ceremonies

March 27, 2024

Delaware Tech inducted 329 students into Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), an international honor society for students who attend two-year colleges, during a series of PTK chapter ceremonies held throughout March 2024.

The Georgetown campus honored 78 students who joined the Alpha Epsilon Epsilon chapter. At the Stanton campus, 63 students were inducted into the Alpha Epsilon Zeta chapter and 103 students became members of the Wilmington campus’ Alpha Zeta Kappa chapter. In Dover, 85 students joined the Alpha Beta Kappa chapter.

Established by Missouri’s two-year college presidents in 1918, Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society serves to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and provide opportunities for individual growth and development through honors, leadership, and service programming. In 1929, the American Association of Community Colleges recognized Phi Theta Kappa as the official honor society for two-year colleges.

Members of PTK must be enrolled in an associate degree program and have completed 12 college-level credits. They must also have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 for induction and then maintain a 3.25 to remain a member in good standing. Both full- and part-time students are eligible.
